DATING AS IT IS MEANT TO BE 2 by DAMIAN

Hey people, how you doing today?
Well I’m back and Dating as Its Meant to be is back also. Sure you got some few tips from the "Looking Good" article from Fashion Friday, thanks for the feedback. :-)

Let’s continue slowly; we’ll be going back a bit, so please stay with me on this.

Just before you plunge into dating, how well have you assessed you, because we are talking about you starting a journey that should lead to marriage. Bearing this in mind, a concise definition of Total Self-Worth should rest deeply in your consciousness.

The question is how well do you know you... how well did you answer that question? You need to be extremely sure you understand yourself well enough, before setting out to know and figure out someone else.

Sincerely, it’s a truth that seems to have been left in the dark.
A complete misunderstanding of self- worth is the primary cause of  most of the frivolous out breaks we have in relationships today, like; heartbreaks, anger, getting severely jealous just because your partner gives a warm response to someone else, and then the worse part, physical abuse.

If you do not understand yourself completely you wouldn’t correctly decide who to start this life long journey called marriage with. You’ll confuse loneliness with being alone. When your partner doesn’t call back or doesn’t call at all or didn’t read your ping or reply your text and you then get disappointed, sometimes extremely sad or mad at your partner, calling him selfish for selfish reasons.
You’ll interpret your partner’s warm welcome to another fellow as a threat, just then you might begin to lose the very essence of being in a relationship in the first place. You just might end up with a guy who sees you as nothing else but a nicely curved punching bag or a lady who thinks she’s Sindel. (Sindel is a mortal kombat character who has the ability to scream a person’s soul out of their body).
A Great man once told me this “no matter how nice a guy is, if he doesn’t have the Holy Spirit, he’s a time bomb, soon to explode” that’s the truth at its best, the same goes for the ladies.
They might only seem nice at the moment when they are trying to get your attention, just wait till they have it, and you’ll hate the fact that you ever said yes. I once read that “true strength can only be known when it is tested and tried in adversity” so what happens when you both have a disagreement and he beats you up or she screams you down. Here’s a wonderful saying “If they don’t change to have you, they wouldn’t change to keep you.” Bear that in mind.

If as a single person you can’t find happiness, you are lonely and not alone and I’ll tell you the truth, getting into a relationship wouldn’t help you find it either. Truth pill – relationships tests and builds your already found happiness, they don’t create one. In a relationship the happiness you felt as a single is put to test, because your partner would surely demand some of it just as you would be demanding some of theirs. Happiness can be allowed to grow if both parties have a complete mutual understanding of themselves and of the standards of a right relationship.
Ask yourself this; would you love you, if you knew you the way you know you, how would you approach you from someone else’s point of view?
Guys, how smelly do your socks get? Hmmm…..didn’t see that coming unh? How’s your armpit hair, how neat are your under wears? Someone once said how you treat your under wear is a function of your self-esteem, how well do you exercise, you don’t want to grow a pot belly later, do you? Are you a drunk and can’t stay away from alcohol (You need the Holy Spirit on this one), how well do you receive corrections, how well do you manage anger, how do you respond to failure, do you work with people or walk on people, and on and on and on……oh! Before I forget, can you cook? You are marrying a wife and not a cook, yes, she’s going to be cooking for you, but do not mistake her for one.

Ladies, hmmmm… Seriously, how is your lingerie, how neat are they, how long does it take you to wash the dirty ones, are you awfully lazy? How well do you show respect and concern, are you a party freak? (You’ll be needing the Holy Spirit on this one as well), how well do you take corrections?  Do you nag a lot? How do you respond to failure and how well do you manage anger, Can you keep his secrets? Yeah! And what are you bringing to the table; you wouldn’t want to reduce your husband into a money machine, would you?
So you see there are a lot of questions to be asked and a lot of answers to be given, these few things are things you should look for in any partner and one more “How do they manage money?”
Being single is where it all starts, you want a Great relationship; create a Great Single life first.
See you next time, and stay faithful to the blog, Thanks.

And stay tuned as “Dating as It’s Meant to be” will around for a while, cheers.
Feedbacks would be highly appreciated.

looking Good

LOOKING GOOD  :-)

Wonderful week out here in lagos, sure you having a great day, well I am, except that I wore a white dove tail shirt to work and I can’t seem to stop thinking about the possibilities of it getting stained, well, that’s for me to worry about.

I’m gonna be taking us through some basic dressing ethics for Men and for Women who LOVE them. Most people ignore these ethics and end up looking funny, well it’s funny to those who understand dressing right to its very least important part.

Hope I don’t stain my shirt while typing…….don’t make fun of me.

It all starts with the very simple thing we all miss;

Formal dressing; this is what it looks like,

BELTS AND SHOES; Always remember to match your belt with your shoes, if you are wearing a brown belt, do well to put on a brown shoe, the same goes for a black belt, it sounds really simple but its an error a whole lot of people make. While dressing formal you really would want to watch this and make sure you are on the right track.

UNDERWEARS AND BRIEFS; Gentleman, that’s a good way to address men, but in my own opinion, men who are neat thoroughly- dressing right isn’t just about your outer wear but how clean your undies are also, you should for hygiene sake not repeat any under wear, wear it once and wash, I’d suggest that you wash either before or after having your bath, or just washing immediately, remember also not to pile up briefs as they get awfully smelly and we won’t want the ladies finding that out would we?

Also, remember to always where an underwear under your shirt, it’s there for reasons such as preventing body odor and also preventing your shirt from sweat from your armpit so as to prevent it from staining your shirt.

TIES; Well, nothing specific, just try to blend the shade of your tie with your shirt and not trying out really funny colors like “Bright yellow tie on a Dark Green shirt” sound awful to me, you should also not wear long ties to dinners, dinners are occasions for bow ties, so that you don’t get uncomfortable while eating and all. There are different ways to knot a tie so, do well to choose freely that which suits your collar and event.

WRIST WATCHES; you’ve got different kinds and designs to choose from but take this from me, never wear a rubber strapped wrist watch with a suit, never, you could go with a leather brown or black or even ox-blood, you could decide to use a chain wrist watch, either silver or gold depending on both the occasion and suit color.

Remember to leave comments and ask questions and if you have topics you'd want us to write on, let us atdamiansmilestone@gmail.com or dejionadeko@gmail.com, your requests would be highly appreciated.

watch out for "fighting temptations" and "Dating as it's meant to be" this weekend. see yah!
and yes, my shirt was pretty stained after work. :-)

ASUU STRIKE. The GOOD, The BAD and The BOTTOMLINE.

It’s been about 60 days since the Academic Staff Union of Universities decided to go freeze on business in a bid to make a point to the Federal Government. They are saying there have been agreements, nine of them, dated as far back as 2009 and the government has failed to fulfill their end of the bargain. Although, two of the nine agreements have been met; the retirement age issue, now age 70 and no longer 65 and the re-installment of prematurely dissolved councils.

I checked out the issue on Google as well and came across Mr. Isaa-Fagee’s (National President ASUU) justification of the strike of which he mentioned and explained a couple of things further, I’m not going into details, for two simple reasons, the first is ‘cos that’s not exactly the point of this write up and secondly and sincerely, that stuff is long (like for real)

I couch sit every morning and attentively listen on maybe kaakaki or some regular morning news on what the issues are about, several interviews and documentaries also go by but none has done much good to help me figure out what the concern is. One time there’s an imbursement of N100 billion for university infrastructure and some N30 billion to assist some governing councils but ASUU insist that they are still owed N92 billion for allowance and all and all that razzmatazz is in a bid to digress from the real issue.

But in all, there’s one party in this entire chaos that seems to be too much on the receiving end, ironically, they are the least mentioned in this bedlam. I’m referring to the students, We hear of the opinion of the FG and the ASUU but students are only mentioned out of sentiments and pity, like I once heard a reporter say and I quote “we hope ASUU would at least, pity these students and go back to work” that’s the most we’ve gone on been heard on this issue.

Now, I’ve not come to start an attention seeking rally for students, I just want to draw our attention to the fact that we students are the ones on the receiving end and I’ll explain that in a bit.

My lecturers are at the moment on an undue leave from work, so, they have some time for some extra work which implies extra pay, extra study which means extra worth and more family time and still, they receive their monthly payment. So then they seem to have little or nothing to lose. The FG still has its entire sector at work (at least not on strike, asides the Nigerian Health Workers who have followed suit.) and all they seem to be worried about is their reputation, integrity and competence (that would have been a lot though if they knew what mattered). But guess what, we the student are lying jobless at home, our society still has issues providing decent jobs for graduates, talk less of a summer job for undergraduates.
Worse again is that the number of years we spend in school are being stretched and our semester calendar will later be shrinked to catch up with the delay, we’ve almost unlearned all we have learnt previously and like the joke--we are trying hard not to forget our matriculation numbers. What worries me most is what our idle minds are forced to think about, making it fully equipped as the devil’s workshop ……..*sighs*…….I can go on and on with the list of negatives but then the essence would be lost.

Anyways I’ve missed out on the title arrangement and I just listed out the bad. But the good things is …………………………..*thinking*…………………………..okay, the good thing is that behind every dark cloud, there’s a silver lining and I’ve learnt to always believe this. There’s this one time I had an accident with my mum’s car, and when I was done searching for a silver lining and did not find one , I remember telling myself “at least I’ve had an accident experience while behind the wheels” funny right? Trust me, it helped ease the regret.

So, I think the good thing here is there is a lot of free time, what you do with your free time is now your choice. You have an option of self-development with books, tapes, short courses (like the RHEMAWORD LEADERSHIP ACADEMY), you have enough time to strategize and venture into a business or pioneer a cause, you also have an option of a job (if you are fortunate to find one), there’s time now to strengthen relationships and catch up on lost times and also give value to these relationships that would last a life time in the process. Then again, you can decide to sit back and talk about the situation of the system and in the process not make yourself a classic change agent by getting busy with the possible. For the first two weeks of my return from school, my mind was as idle as an abandoned construction site, so I got thinking, and well BlogToLyfe was birthed in my spirit.

I have friends venturing out to catch up with new stuffs; the NMMNG music Crew has released some new songs, Bolanle took on her heels to Ife when she heard of Rhemaword Leadership Academy (RLA), same as Victoria and Kemi, Tuokpe is at a makeover training institute, Damian is on IT, and the list goes on and on and on……..

The bottom line is, at the end of the strike, you’ll either be glad or sad, trained or drained, exhausted or rejuvenated. Whichever way, it’ll be your choice. So get busy, Get busy with that craft or that hobby that pays, get your minds working on ideas that could make a change, because the world is only going to remember those who walked this earth leaving giant marks as they walked by. Once again the bottom line is get busy for a change.

Until next time friends, I Love You and GOD bless You.
